Brewing Tea

  • Use roughly a teaspoon of dried tea per cup.
  • General brewing time is 30 seconds to 2 minutes. There is no ‘correct’ way to brew tea. Make it the way you like it! Suggested brewing times are included on the label. If you like your black tea with milk you may like to extend the brewing time to around 5 minutes.
  • The more delicate the leaves, the cooler the water it is brewed with should be. For example, brew black tea with water that is just boiled and white or green tea with boiled water that has slightly cooled.
  • If you want to make a stronger cup of tea without the tea becoming bitter in taste it is best to put more leaves in rather than brew the tea for longer.
  • If you prefer your tea to have less caffeine it is suggested to discard the first quick infusion of the tea. Caffeine also contributes to the bitterness and sharpness of the tea.

Storing Tea

  • Store your tea in an airtight container, away from sunlight and in a cool location. Why not try one of our tea tins! If tea is not stored properly it will absorb moisture and flavours from its environment. For optimal freshness it is recommended that tea is consumed within 1-2 months after the packet has been opened.
